Here are a few suggestions:
Outdoor Activities:
Our easy access to the ocean, lakes, mountains and beaches,
makes a full range of outdoor recreational activities possible.
Day sailing from our harbor, canoeing and kayaking, hiking
at Camden Hills State Park, or visiting Acadia National Park
(a day trip) are great choices. There are also ferries which
can provide an "island" experience to locations such as Monhegan,
North Haven and Vinalhaven. These picturesque locales provide
wonderful opportunities for photography, seal and whale watching,
hiking, visiting artists' studios and just enjoying a relaxed
pace. There are several municipal golf courses nearby and
charter fishing can be arranged. There are two local tennis
courts, and an indoor pool, racquetball and health club facilities
are available in Rockland or Rockport, a twenty to twenty-five
minute drive. An adjacent beach and several nearby beaches
provide wonderful vistas, solitary walks and even swimming
for those who enjoy bracing Maine ocean dips!

offerings in our area. Bay Chamber Concerts in Camden, the
Waldo Theater in Waldoboro and events sponsored by arts groups
in the local area highlight the talents of Maine and national
performers.

warm, evening temperatures can make you reach for a sweater. Occasionally,
our coast is enveloped in fog, usually burning off during
the morning, but sometimes lingering for the day. Autumn
(late Sept.-mid Nov.) weather brings crisp daytime temperatures
in the 50s-60sFº, with a special golden afternoon light.
